What were trying to do here.

Bottom line is :"Team Backbone" is trying to raise as much money as possible for The American Cancer Society during the Relay for Life walk.

Now the Relay For Life walks around the country usually take place at the local high school track ,as teams walk all thru the night to raise money...which is a great event!

But THIS walk will be a little different.....

WE have decided to stretch this walk half way across NC, from Wilmington to Siler City.

WHY YOU DOIN' THAT? That's what I hear from everyone who I let know what we're trying to do. So I'll tell you why.

We want to go above and beyond to raise this money, it takes extraordinary events to wake people up sometimes, so to put ourselves on the line to bring more awareness to this terrible disease ,then thats what it takes.

We plan to start off in Wilmington NC on Friday, April 24, the start of New Hanover County Relay for Life walk at Ashley High School and continue to walk North on 421 till we get to Siler City NC to kick off the Chatham County Relay for Life on Friday,May 1.at Jordan Matthews High School.

We plan on logging in 20-30 miles a day. We're not in a big hurry but we do have to keep a good pace. We hope to meet alot of people along the way and raise a HUGE amount of money. We hope companies along the way will take notice and contribute to the cause.
